Postoperative Care
Klinik Tiefenbrunnen offers individual support during recovery after surgery, including manual lymphatic drainage and selected complementary services where appropriate.

Nicola Leu
Nicola Leu is a qualified nurse and trained manual lymphatic drainage therapist. Her additional qualifications and areas of practice include classical massage, nutritional counselling, psychosocial counselling and coaching.
The appropriate aftercare depends on the procedure performed, the surgeon's treatment plan and each patient's needs. Supportive therapies do not replace medical follow-up.
Professional background
After qualifying in nursing in Germany in 1989, Nicola Leu moved to Zurich. Over approximately six years she worked in various surgical departments at Stadtspital Triemli and University Hospital Zurich, including positions with managerial responsibility.
From 1995 she was part of a team establishing a private ward for hand, plastic and reconstructive surgery at University Hospital Zurich. She later looked after private patients at Clinica Pitanguy in Rio de Janeiro, gaining experience in postoperative care after aesthetic procedures, and helped establish Klinik Tiefenbrunnen upon her return to Zurich.
Postoperative support and recovery
Healing after surgery differs from person to person. Follow-up support can be adapted to swelling, movement, tissue tightness and the patient's changing needs.
Manual lymphatic drainage may be part of that support, but whether and when it is appropriate should follow the surgeon's advice. Unexpected symptoms or changes must be medically assessed rather than treated solely with complementary therapy.
Additional supportive services
The clinic's existing information also describes classical massage, nutritional counselling, psychosocial counselling and coaching alongside postoperative support.
These services can be discussed according to individual circumstances. They remain distinct from medical follow-up after surgery.
